Tasks View

A single hub for users to view task workload across projects.

Updated over a week ago

The new Tasks view in Baton provides a hub for you to focus on your workload across projects at a single glance. This cross-project view is a one-stop shop for PMs and contributors to see what they need to do next, as well as for managers to understand the current workload of each team member.

You will now have access to Tasks from the main navigation.

Within the Tasks view, you can easily assess the priority of the work they've been committed to, update task status and task estimates, as well as easily track time across all assigned tasks. The left panel surfaces insights into the tasks you're viewing in the list, including task breakdown by status, day of the week, department, and due this week. Clicking on a task title will open that task drawer to dig deeper into a specific task, and clicking on a project name will take you to that project in Baton. You can also select other team members from the Select Task View drop-down at the top-left of the page to gain visibility into others' workload, as well as All Tasks and Unassigned Tasks across your workspace.

By default, the Tasks view will display all of your Not Started, In Progress, and Stuck tasks, sorted by task due date. Additional filters can be adjusted by clicking the Filters option at the top-right of the page. From here, you're able to adjust the filter criteria to further customize your view. Filtering options include Task Risk, Task Status, Due Date, Project, Time Estimated, Time Tracked, Project Status, and Department. Filtered Presets can be saved for future use. My Incomplete Tasks, My Incomplete Tasks Due This Week, and Tasks Due This Week With No Time Tracked will be available as default Filter Presets, which can be edited or deleted as needed.

The Tasks view can be grouped and sorted using the Group By and Sort menus located at the top-right of the screen. From these menus, you can group by tasks due This Week, This Month, or by Task Status, and can sort by Task Title, Start Date, or Due Date.
