Uploading a Project Plan
Updated over a week ago

Using our standardized Baton format, you can easily upload a .csv of your tasks and greatly reduce the time to create a new project. Our template is available here.

Note the following:

  • Do not delete or rename any columns

  • Every task must be assigned a milestone

  • Every task must have a due date

When you’ve finished filling in your information, you can Export to or Save as a CSV. When you Save as or Export to CSV, make sure you use only the sheet that contains your project plan. This is the “Template” tab of our format.

You can then click the blue “Launch Uploader” button to launch the upload process. Note if you close this menu out while uploading, you will lose all progress.

Follow the on screen guide. It will instruct you to either drag and drop a .CSV file or Upload data from a file.

Next, you’ll double check that the headers from the .CSV file line up with the proper columns. If you didn’t change anything, this should happen automatically. We’ll confirm columns with some validation and that there are no repeated columns.

Next, you’ll see rows to review where there are issues. You can toggle to see all rows or only rows with problems from a toggle in the top left of the menu.

If everything passes validation and looks good to you, click the blue “Complete” in the bottom right to proceed. From here you can still add more tasks manually or edit the project if you’d like.
