Your Baton Templates have a new home
Updated over a week ago

Everyone has their own formula for creating high-quality project plans —and no one knows your process better than you. With Baton, you can choose to convert your existing projects to templates and access them in your Portfolio view, where you can also edit and track usage data.

In this guide, you’ll learn how to:

Convert your projects to templates

To start, select any project in your workspace and click on `Project actions...`. From there, click on `Save as template`, enter a title, and select what information you would like to save into your template.

A pop up will appear after your template is saved and will give you the option to bring you straight to your new template where you can edit and assign tasks.

Access and manage your templates

Click on Templates in your Portfolio view to access your templates.

Each saved template is stored in here. Up top, you can find some quick data points and before using a template you can click on the eye icon where you can have a quickview of your template's information.

If you aren’t quite ready to use a template, no problem — click on `Edit template` and you can easily view which tasks have dependencies, make edits to milestones/tasks, add or remove attachments, shift dates, and the option to duplicate your template (we know there can be different variations to your projects 😉).

You're now ready to use this template! Once you select `Use a template`, you'll add some basic information of your project (with some optional details) to create your new project. Check out our Project Creation and Planning article to learn more. Happy planning!
